Hello Families!
June 2, 2020
Dear Parents and Guardians,
As we reach the end
of the 2019-2020 school year, we would first like to take the opportunity to
thank all of you for your continued support in your child’s education during
this unprecedented time. It has been a difficult journey trying to ensure we
were providing the most appropriate lessons and activities, which best suited
your child’s educational needs. While nothing can replace face-to-face
instruction in a school setting, you, as their parents/guardians, did an
amazing job partnering with us during our first remote learning adventure
together.
This Friday, June 5th,
from 4 pm to 6 pm, we will be conducting a “student work drop-off/student
farewell” event. Teachers, while following recommended CDC guidelines, will be
stationed in designated areas at the high school bus port, where families will
be dropping off their child’s Math and Reading workbooks, also giving the
teachers and students an opportunity to say goodbye for the summer.
The last official
day of school is June 12th. We are collecting the above materials on
June 5th in order to give the teachers an opportunity to review all
assignments and provide the families with the appropriate feedback. For the
final week of school, the faculty at Kennedy will be providing educational
activities, in the form of a Summer Celebration Enrichment Week.
Once all materials
have been collected and reviewed, we will be conducting another event for
students to pick-up report cards, certificates, reviewed materials, etc. This
date will be given at a later time.
Again, we would
like to thank you all for your continued support and cooperation. We are looking
forward to seeing your children on Friday, as this is the final opportunity for
teachers to formally say goodbye for the summer break. We encourage you to
bring your child, however, everyone is required to remain in their vehicles and
follow the appropriate CDC guidelines.
Sincerely,
Valerie Bartle
Principal
