Students pick your favorite book!



Kindergarten students can...

     ~pick a sight word or letter and count how many times it appears in the book.
     ~ pick a color or shape and count how many times you can find it.

First grade students can...

     ~pick a sight word and count how many times it appears on a page or in the book.
     ~find a number in word form.

Second grade students can...

     ~pick a spelling word from a past list and count how many times they see it on            each page or in the entire book.
   
     ~while reading a book compare how many pages they have read compared to 
          how many more they have to read.

Jar of Coins!
             Get your jar of coins sorted/counted!


Kindergarten students can:
            ~sort coins by size.
            ~compare sizes.

First grade students can:
            ~sort coins by name,
            ~compare values of coins when values of coins are given to them.

Second grade students can:
           ~sort coins by value.
           ~compare coin values.
           ~give students a change value and have them match the value
            with coins.

          ~sort them by color
          ~sort them by what is inside the package 
                (vegetables, soup, sauce, etc.)


First Grade students can...

         ~sort them by height
         ~sort them by the number of ounces (oz.)
         ~make a pattern with them (shape, color, contents)
         
Second Grade students can ….

        ~sort them numerically by using the nutritional label
                   (use the number of calories, number of fat grams, 
                    number of carbohydrates, etc.)

        ~make a pattern with the items (shape, color, contents)
