Step 1:  Have your child say the letter and corresponding sound for the following letters/sounds:

Ӯ (as in try)

i

Ī (as in bike)


Correct your child as necessary and have them repeat the letter/sound the correct way.
Step 2:  Have your child sound out each letter in the word and then blend all the sounds together.

Some of these words will not be easy to sound out because they have irregular spellings (says). 

Other words will have more than one letter for one sound; such as the er in never, ar in start, and ing.

Tell your child the ar makes the pirate sound (Arrr!) and when 2 vowels go walkin’ the first one does the talkin’, as in the ea in teach.

I hope you find this helpful, or maybe it’s clear as mud.  Try your best and message me if you get stuck.  Like I always say, there are no worries in room 113.

Step 3:   Read the story for lesson 95 out loud.  An adult or older sibling can help read the story to them. The story is called “will the old car start?”


Step 4:  Complete the 2 sided workbook page for Lesson 95.  The workbook is orange with a picture of 2 foxes on the cover. Check their work and correct as necessary.  

I also included the supplemental workbook pages for each lesson.  It came stapled together in a separate packet.  Lesson 95 has 3 sentences on top, the first sentence says:  “the sun is hot.” Only one page needs to be completed daily.
