Playing Cards, not just for solitaire!
Kindergarten students can :
~ sort cards by suit (hearts, diamonds, etc.)
~ sort cards by value (2s, 3s, etc.)
~ use number cards and compare (greater than, less than)
First grade students can:
~place number cards in numerical order (2,3,4, etc.)
~use number cards and pick 2 cards and add or subtract them.
~use number cards and pick 2 cards, make a number and then name a
number greater than or less then that number.
( ex. student picks a 6 and a 4, so 64, now pick a number greater than
or less than that number)
Second grade students can:
~use number cards and pick 2 cards and add or subtract them.
~use number cards and pick 2 cards, make a number write it down
and then pick 2 more cards, make a number write it down, you can
subtract these numbers, add these numbers, or compare these number
Dice!
Kindergarten-
~roll the dice and say which number is greater than the other or less
than the other .
~ roll one die and name the number without counting the dots.
First grade-
~Make a one digit addition or subtraction problem.
Roll one die and write the number , roll the die again and write that number
then add or subtract these numbers.
Second grade-
~Make a 2 digit addition or subtraction problem
Roll two dice and write the numbers , roll the dice again and write those
numbers then add or subtract these numbers.
